Bottom of an Empty Bottle: Adrian Ivashkov's Story
Chapter 1:
Adrian Ivashkov stared down at the now empty in his hands.
"How'd that happen…?" he mumbled to himself.
As he looked out the window he noticed that the sun had once again set, and he had just wasted another vampire night alone in his room.
This wasn't what used to happen. Once, he would have spent this time partying with beautiful women, turning on his natural-born charm and living the lavish life of a royal. Then he met Rose. Beautiful, wonderful Rose. She was sharp tongued and independent, and sexy. She was the only girl that had captivated Adrian, hell, she even convinced him to quit his clove cigarettes. The spirit power that had once driven him to constant intoxication had suddenly seemed like a much lighter burden.
He recalled the spirit dreams they had shared inside of Rose's head. The things that she had shared with him that she never confided in anyone else. They had been his onlyh connection to her when she was away, the only thing preventing his backwards spiral.
But now it was all over. Back to square one.
Adrian picked himself up checked his bedside table. Though his phone should have been dead, it still lit up, showing all the missed calls he had from his mother. Daniella Ivashkov cared for her son, and though she meant well, one thing seemed to matter to her most: image. And having her son disappear for over 24 hours did not look good on the family's record.
He sighed. Time to pull himself out of this drunk stupor and face the music. He pulled out a clove cigarette.
"Welcome back, my old friend," he sighed, and took a long drag.
I hated that Adrian was just dumped at the end of the Vampire Academy series. In more ways than one. So I decided to write a little more of his story.
